When is the application deadline?
Registration for the 2018 F3 Lake Half Marathon & 5K will close on January 19th at noon or until we sell out. We have always sold out.
How do I confirm my entry to the F3 Lake Half Marathon or 5k?
All online and mailed registrations will be confirmed via email. Check your registration online
What time do the races begin?
The Half Marathon starts at 10:00 am and the 5K starts at 10:30 am.
Is there going to be gun time being used for winners?
Age group will be using chip time. Overall winners will be using gun time.
Where can I get my results for the F^3 Lake Half Marathon?
At the event, results will be posted at the REM-Fit booth as they become available. A printout of your results can also be obtained in the Info Tent at the United Club.
After the race, results will be posted on our Facebook page and this website. An announcement will be made at the After Party once the results are available online.
Age group award winners can pick up their awards from the Awards table inside the United Club starting at 11:30 AM.
Where do I pick up my packet?
Packet pickup will occur at multiple locations in Chicago and the suburbs.
Please bring your ID and ID of your friends if picking up for them.
Large groups: please email ahead if you want to pick up together and we will pull your packets to speed up the process
If you need to pick up your packet on race day there is a $15 charge which you can pay in advance here. If you wait until race day the cost will be $20.
Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes. If someone is picking up your packet, please have them provide your photo ID, photocopy of your ID, or confirmation email.
How do I change my packet pickup location?
The location you chose when you registered gives us an idea of how many people to expect at each location, but it doesn’t mean you have to pick up your packet at that location. You are welcome to pick up your packet at whichever packet pickup day and location that works for you. There is no need to email us and ask to change your packet pickup location. However, if you need to change your packet pickup to race day, you will need to pay for Will Call.

What if I can’t finish the race?
There will be a vehicle following the last participants of the race.
When does the race officially end?
Approximately 1:30 pm CST. This is a 3 hour and 30 minute time limit.
Where can I check my gear during the race?
Gear check is provided for all participants, and is located in the United Club
Can spectators/family/friends wait in the United Club?
Yes. Spectators and friends are welcome to join us before and during the race in the United Club and at the post-race party.
Can I buy F^3 merchandise?
We have merchandise available for purchase on our website and will have some merchandise available for purchase on race day. We do not ship! You must pick up any purchased merchandise on race day at the Info table.
Can I defer until next year or get a refund?
Sorry there are no refunds or deferment options for the half marathon or 5K events.
I found a discount code after I registered. Can it still be applied?
We are unable to retroactively apply any discount codes to your registration.
What are the different awards divisions?
Age Group Awards for the half marathon. Multiple age group categories: 019; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70+
5K will have overall winner awards.
In order to be eligible to win an overall award or an age group award, you must run the race your registered and paid for. If you would like to drop down to a race that is of shorter distance, you must inform customer service and fill out the proper paper work. You will then be assigned the proper race bib. If you would like to move up to a longer distance race, you must inform customer service, pay the additional fee and fill out the proper paper work. You will then be assigned the proper race bib. You will be ineligible to win an award if you do not follow these procedures prior to the race.
Age group award winners should pick up their award from the Awards table inside the United Center starting at 11:30 AM. We will not ship awards.
Can I run in the 5K instead of the Half Marathon?
You are able to change your race distance by logging into your RunningGuru account, going to “edit event” and “change registration” There is a $15 admin fee to change distances, plus the applicable additional registration fee if you are switching “up” to the half marathon. Change your registration here.
If you do not officially change distances you will be disqualified and your race time will not count.
Can I run with a stroller? Can I run with my dog?
No baby joggers, strollers, pets, bicycles, skateboards and other wheeled vehicles are permitted.
I have a friend who cannot participate in the event, can I take his/her place?
Each participant must have his/her own registration. In the event of an emergency, race official must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore you are NOT allowed to participate using someone else’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy.
Can I get a refund or transfer?
There are no refunds or transfers for the Half Marathon or 5K events.

What about the weather?
The F3 Lake Half Marathon and 5k races take place in January in Chicago. Expect wintery conditions. Safety is our priority. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for weather updates. There may be delays due to extreme weather – please listen to the announcer for updates.
F^3 Events works closely with the City of Chicago and reserves the right to cancel/re-schedule the event in dangerous weather. Please note that your registration is non-refundable.
